I’ve become an unabashed fan of the Clio Cloud Conference, the fifth of which is coming up Sept. 25-26 and which this year moves from its original venue of Chicago to New Orleans. I’ve been to all four prior conferences and I’ve praised every one of them as among the best legal technology conferences you can attend.
In fact, that is exactly what I wrote after the 2014 conference, calling it it was one of the best legal technology conferences I had ever attended. After the 2015 conference, I said that it was déjà vu all over again. And after last year’s conference, fishing for something critical to say, I hit on one complaint — that it was too short.
Many tech companies have user conferences. But this is not a user conference — or at least it is not only a user conference. Yes, if you are a Cio user, you will benefit from the Clio University tracks that cover basic and advanced uses.
But the primary tracks focus more generally on legal technology and the business of law. There are top speakers covering essential topics. If past years are any guide, these programs will be useful regardless of whether you use Clio.
On top of that, there are many opportunities for networking, socializing and partying. And this is, after all, New Orleans.
