One of the areas of legal practice in which generative artificial intelligence is having a significant impact is litigation, bringing new products designed to handle the time-intensive work of conducting discovery, sifting through evidence, analyzing depositions and preparing for trial.

Now comes another notable example of that, as Lexitas, a company that specializes in technology-enabled legal support services, has announced the launch of Deposition Insights+, an AI-enabled platform designed to streamline deposition transcript analysis and video review for litigation teams.

Deposition Insights+ builds on Lexitas’ existing Deposition Insights platform, which already had a deposition summarization feature, adding AI-powered search capabilities, enhanced transcript summarization capabilities, and integrated video analysis.

The platform aims to address what Lexitas describes as one of litigation’s “most persistent challenges”: efficiently analyzing depositions to extract critical information from voluminous transcripts and video recordings.

Key Features

Deposition Insights+ offers several core functionalities:

  • An AI-powered legal assistant that can answer complex questions across multiple depositions.
  • Agentic search that traces themes, topics, or testimony threads across thousands of pages.
  • Customized summaries that extract key admissions, contradictions and exhibit references across multiple depositions.
  • Behavioral video analysis to assess witness credibility and demeanor, decoding body language and verbal cues.
  • Deposition timelines providing a visual chronology.  of the deposition.
  • Verification of results with linked page and line citations.

“Deposition analysis traditionally has been one of the most time-consuming aspects of case preparation, with critical details often hidden within thousands of pages of testimony,” said Nicole Arango, president, court reporting, at Lexitas.

“Deposition Insights+ offers a revolutionary approach to this challenge, replacing manual transcript review with intelligent, AI-powered search and analysis.”

Founded in 1987, Lexitas provides a broad spectrum of services, including court reporting and deposition services, medical record retrieval, process serving, legal staffing and talent outsourcing, litigation support, document review, and managed review.

Earlier this year, it launched a Global Capabilities Center in Chennai, India, to serve as a specialized hub for technological research and product development, including AI, aiming to enhance its tech-enabled services for legal professionals.

The launch comes as legal technology vendors increasingly focus on developing AI-powered solutions for document review, case preparation, and litigation support. Deposition analysis represents a particularly labor-intensive area where AI applications promise to deliver measurable efficiency gains.
