Legal technology company Litera said today it has acquired one of its competitors, DocsCorp, a global software company with a range of products related to document productivity.

With the acquisition, Litera acquires a group of products that complement and round-out its own document-productivity and document-drafting products.

Litera says the acquisition will enable firms to add a unique set of products to enhance their document drafting workflow.

For example, DocsCorp provides PDF editing and electronic binder creation, while Litera provides proofreading, litigation and transaction tools.

“We are very pleased to announce this important acquisition for Litera,” Litera CEO Avaneesh Marwaha said in a statement provided by the company. “DocsCorp is a business with a proven track record in the development of integrated solutions for the legal sector.”

“The combination of Litera and DocsCorp joins two highly respected brands in the industry to deliver a robust suite of document drafting capabilities within one organization,” said Dean Sappey, DocsCorp CEO and cofounder. “This transaction extends Litera’s range of software technologies, enhancing its offering to the benefit of customers.”

This continues a sprint of acquisitions for Litera. In January, it acquired Foundation Software, expanding into firm intelligence.

Last year, Litera acquired litigation management platform Allegory LawAI contract drafting platform Bestpractix, and table-of-authorities generator Best Authority, and in 2019, it acquired  U.K. company Workshare and deal-management platform Doxly.
