On this episode of How it Works, I sit down with Midpage founder Otto Zastrow to demo Midpage GPT, a plugin within ChatGPT that allows lawyers to accurately and securely research case law.

The Midpage ChatGPT Integration allows lawyers to conduct legal research on real case law directly in ChatGPT. By connecting the ChatGPT to the Midpage database of case law, statutes, and regulations, and by giving ChatGPT tools to search across these materials, the risk of hallucinations is drastically reduced.

In this demo, Zastrow shows us a side-by-side comparison of using ChatGPT out of the box, versus using the Midpage GPT plugin.

We tested the tool by asking case law related questions and checking for hallucinations, and by using the tool in research and drafting scenarios.
