The trademark docketing software company Alt Legal kicked off its first conference, Alt Legal Connect, today, with a keynote by founder and CEO Nehal Madhani in which he announced new features for the product and a new partnership to better support international trademark docketing.

During his keynote, Madhani announced the company’s integration with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office to extend its docketing automation to Canadian trademarks.

Madhani also announced that, with the next couple months, Alt Legal will partner with a major trademark search company to incorporate other international trademark data into the Alt Legal software.

Finally, announced the launch of a new resource center, which includes a new free course to teach paralegals about the fundamentals of trademark prosecution and help them level up their trademark knowledge.

Originally planned as a live conference for last spring, Alt Legal Connect was rescheduled as a virtual event due to the pandemic. It features 18 sessions on two tracks, one focused on trademark practice and the other on topics related to the business of law.

Other keynote speakers are David Lat, managing director at Lateral Link and founder of Above the Law, on Tuesday, and Jack Newton, cofounder and CEO of Clio, on Wednesday.

Some 300 people have registered to attend the conference, which is still open for registration. Cost of the three-day event is $250, or $175 if purchasing two or more registrations.
