Former Google and AdRoll executive is joined by Anthony Emmanuel Medina as Chief Product Officer and Dan Peterson as Chief Customer & People Officer

SAN FRANCISCO – OCTOBER 20, 2026 – Smith.ai, the legal tech company changing the front office for law firms, today announced the appointment of Suresh Khanna as Chief Executive Officer. The company also named Anthony Emmanuel Medina as Chief Product Officer and Dan Peterson as Chief Customer & People Officer. Together, the new leaders will guide Smith.ai’s next phase of growth as it helps small and mid-sized law firms turn more calls into signed clients.

Khanna is a deep expert in leading and building technology around sales and marketing.  He spent six years at Google, including leading the North America SMB ads teams where he worked with many law firms on their marketing funnel. He later led ad tech pioneer AdRoll from $3 million to $150 million annual recurring revenue as their President and Chief Revenue Officer. For 18 years, he and his wife Anamika have owned and operated Kasa Indian Eatery in San Francisco, which he has long used as a real-world testing ground for small-business tools. This experience shapes Khanna’s view of the legal market.

“Law firms run one of the hardest and most valuable sales funnels in small business,” says Khanna. “And despite all their investments in marketing, they often treat intake as an administrative task rather than a revenue engine. Smith.ai exists to change that. Every caller is a potential client, and our job is to make sure firms never lose one to a missed call or weak first impression.”

Medina joins from Apollo.io, where he was Senior Director of Product and Head of Research. Over nearly five years, he built Apollo’s product and research functions from an early stage into a $1.6 billion sales platform. He spearheaded the development of Apollo’s product-lead growth engine and helped transform Apollo into an AI-native go-to-market leader. Before Apollo, he led payments and crypto research at Robinhood and worked as an AI Researcher at Google, studying privacy in personal AI agents. This expertise will be a driving force in his work growing Smith.ai’s platform. Medina holds a PhD in Economic Anthropology from Stanford University.

Peterson brings more than 20 years of experience driving revenue growth, operational excellence, and high-performing organizations in sales and marketing. He joins from MarketStar, where he served as SVP of Operations & Enablement and built and scaled global teams supporting some of the world’s largest brands, including Google, Reddit, Pinterest, and X. At Smith.ai, he will lead the customer experience behind the company’s network of more than 500 North America-based live agents.

“Law firms need intake that combines the speed of AI with the judgment and empathy of humans, which only works when the product, customer experience, and team are deeply aligned,” said Khanna. “Anthony and Dan are brilliant leaders who have each scaled that kind of work at some of the most demanding companies in the industry. Together, we will obsess over driving tremendous customer value, ensuring every call is answered, every lead is qualified, and every valuable opportunity is converted for our clients.”
