The Advocate Behind Every Advocate: ongoing discovery expertise, hands-on support, and technology for plaintiff firms

IRVINE, CA, Oct. 13, 2026 — ILS, the preeminent plaintiff-only eDiscovery provider dedicated to supporting the plaintiffs’ bar in its fight for justice and leveling the playing field against corporate defendants, today announced ILS Advocate™. The Plaintiff-Aligned Discovery offering brings discovery expertise, technology, and ongoing support together under a predictable monthly fee.

For plaintiff firms, a single catastrophic injury case can present an enterprise-scale discovery challenge. Relevant information may be spread across a defendant’s devices, databases, cloud systems, and custodians. Counsel must determine what to request, whether something is missing, and which technical questions to pursue—all while committing time and capital before knowing whether the case will produce a recovery.

ILS calls this the Discovery Uncertainty Trap: uncertainty about the evidence, the expertise needed, and the cost of moving forward. Each unanswered question can force another decision about how much to invest in discovery and what the firm risks leaving unexplored.

“Plaintiff firms should have access to world-class experienced forensics and discovery professionals while those questions are taking shape,” said Steve Crossman, President at ILS. “With Advocate, we’re making our elite team an extension of theirs. Attorneys have people to call who understand both the litigation objectives and the technical work, with a clear monthly commitment for the services included. We are removing the uncertainty and reluctance to call an expert at any time while adding the proactive perspective grounded in hundreds of years of collective plaintiff-only work experience. That’s what we mean by being the advocate behind every advocate.”

A Discovery Team and Platform Built Around Plaintiff Firms

ILS Advocate is designed for plaintiff firms handling single-plaintiff catastrophic injury and other high-value matters with modest data volumes. Relevant practice areas include commercial trucking, product liability, construction injuries, premises liability, medical malpractice, and birth injury.

For $800 per matter per month, with a three-matter minimum and a minimum monthly commitment of $2,400 per firm, Advocate includes:

  • Secure Reveal hosting for up to 50 GB of data per matter.
  • Data processing, intake, and user access.
  • Litigation consulting and project management.
  • ESI consulting.
  • Technical support.
  • Remote forensics and collections within the program’s scope.
  • Reveal Ask AI, subject to program usage limits.

The offering combines ILS’s litigation and technical experience with ongoing guidance. The team helps counsel identify relevant information sources, understand collection methods, address ESI questions, and assess issues that deserve further investigation. Firms retain control of their cases and direct access to their data.

Advocate’s monthly fee covers defined services and hosting allowances. Additional hosting and services outside the program’s scope, including managed review, analysis/TAR, expert testimony, on-site forensics, and translation, are priced separately.
