Today, Candle is introducing Candle Work.
The inbox is where the work shows up. But it hasn’t been where the work gets done.
Candle has connected your firm’s inbox to the firm’s data: the case and matter management system, documents, client information, and the people who own the work. Those integrations have already saved time by bringing the right documents, the right status, and the right context directly into email.
But until now, Candle could only help you see the work. You still had to do it.
An email comes in. A client asks for documents and a status update. Opposing counsel sends a revised agreement. A client tells you something’s changed that needs to be updated in the case management system. Each starts as a few lines of unstructured text, and each turns into real work: searching the CMS, checking another system, updating matter information, tracking down an owner, drafting a response. This happens dozens of times a day, and much of it isn’t billable.
Candle Work closes that gap.
Tell your Agent, “Take care of this,” and it understands the request, gathers the relevant information, works across your firm’s systems, and comes back with a result to review.
What that means day-to-day:
A client emails asking for documents and a status update? Your Agent finds the relevant documents, checks what’s outstanding, identifies who’s handling it, and drafts the response, attachments included.
A client emails with information that changes the matter? Your Agent identifies what changed, checks it against your case management system, and prepares the updates. Approve them, and Candle writes the changes back.
Opposing counsel sends a revised agreement? Your Agent finds the previous version, flags the substantive changes, and drafts your response. Tell it what to accept and push back on, and it finishes the job.
An email triggers several things that need to happen next? Your Agent figures out what it means for the matter, prepares the resulting updates, documents, and follow-ups, and lays it out for your approval.
One email can create work across multiple systems. Candle orchestrates what happens next, right from the inbox.
This isn’t about replacing your firm’s technology. Candle sits between the unstructured information flowing through email and the structured systems your firm already relies on. Your case management system remains your case management system. Firms can also connect additional systems and tools through MCP, extending Agents beyond Candle’s built-in integrations. Candle just makes the inbox the place where the work across those systems gets done.
You stay in control. Agents gather information, prepare work, and propose actions. You review, adjust, and approve before anything consequential happens.
Today, too much time is spent turning emails into separate tasks, moving between systems, and copying information from one place to another. Candle Work gives that time back.
Lawyers already work in their inbox. Now their Agents can work there too.
Candle Work is available today to a limited number of firms in early access.
