Debuting today is a new product, KLapper, that is a DIY legal virtual assistant builder, powered by generative AI, and designed specifically for law firm knowledge management and innovation teams.

Developed by KLoBot Inc., a company that develops knowledge management technology for the legal industry, KLapper was developed to enable users to easily design, train and deploy advanced virtual assistants without the need for extensive IT support.

Built on Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI Service, KLapper’s no-code interface enables KM and innovations teams to more easily build and deploy no-code virtual assistants across a wide range of channels, including Microsoft SharePoint, Zoom, Teams, web apps, mobile apps, Windows 11 and more, the company says.

According to the company’s announcement, KLapper uses generative AI to go beyond documents and learn a firm’s key business datasets through “intelligent connectors,” enabling it to provide contextually relevant responses and insights.

Among the use cases for which it can be deployed:

  • Legal research assistant.
  • Document review and analysis.
  • Document drafting and contract review.
  • Document automation.
  • Client interaction and communication.
  • Billing and time tracking.

One of the key strengths of KLapper is its ability to seamlessly integrate with a variety of essential firm applications, the company says, in order to leverage valuable data and insights to enhance its understanding and responsiveness.

These include platforms such as NetDocuments and iManage; time and billing systems such as Elite, Aderant, and Int app; Lexis Nexis; SharePoint; Salesforce; ServiceNow; SQL server databases; and HTTPS microservices. By connecting with these applications,

“Our goal with KLapper is to empower law firms with smart, easy-to-use, affordable AI technology that streamlines processes, enhances client experiences and drives innovation,” says Ragav Jagannathan, president and CEO of KLoBot.

“By combining the power of generative AI with seamless integrations into a firm’s DMS, time and billing platform, and SQL databases, KLapper provides attorneys and legal teams with a more complete picture of client, matter and business information that boosts productivity and informs higher-quality decisions.”

KLapper can be installed within a firm’s Microsoft Azure tenant, to ensure a high level of data security and confidentiality. It is licensed on a usage-based model.
