A few weeks ago, I posted about memorial services planned for Monica Bay, the longtime editor-in-chief of Law Technology News, one in San Mateo, Calif. on Nov. 30, and another in New York City on Dec. 7.

I now have additional details on the New York memorial from Sean La Roque-Doherty, Monica’s close friend and her former colleague at ALM, where he was technology editor. He writes:

“I have made arrangements for Monica’s Celebration of Life in New York. Since she was a self-ascribed ‘Hilton Girl,’ and one of her favorite events was Legal Week, the reception is at Hilton Midtown (1335 Ave of the Americas), Lincoln Room, on 12/07/2023 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM.

The reception will feature a running picture log of Monica with family and friends (memory) and a microphone for anyone who wants to share memories. The Hilton will serve beer, wine, sparkling water, and appetizers throughout the event.”

Sean has two asks:

  • If you plan to go, please RSVP to him for food and drink planning. You can email him at Sean@laroque-doherty.com.
  • If anyone has pictures they would like to share during the event, please send them to him in advance.

If you are on the West Coast, the memorial for Monica is this Thursday, Nov. 30, at 11:30 a.m., at the Hilton Garden Inn, 2000 Bridgepointe Circle. A lunch buffet will be provided.
