News today of further consolidation in the e-discovery market, as Seattle-based Lighthouse, a provider of technology-enabled e-discovery, compliance and information governance services, announced that it will acquire H5, a company that offers technology assisted review and analytics products that work within the Relativity and RelativityOne e-discovery platforms.
Lighthouse said that this acquisition marks its first entry into document review, with the addition of advanced search and analytics technology, and experts who can help clients use these tools to find and classify sensitive data and automate key review workflows.
The companies did not reveal terms of the deal.
“Lighthouse is acquiring the leading review efficiency technology in the industry, that enables its consultants to accurately and efficiently perform key document identification and responsiveness review faster than manual review teams,” the company said. “This solution is currently being used by many of the world’s leading corporations and law firms and applies broadly to all document review.”
As a result of the acquisition, Lighthouse said, it will now offer a comprehensive set of consulting, review, e-discovery and information governance technologies and services that spans the entire client data lifecycle in both cloud and hybrid environments.
Lighthouse said that H5 — which was founded in San Francisco in 2003 by Eoin Beirne, Jeff Kangas and Nicolas Economou — was the first company to offer technology assisted review as a service. The company later expanded its offerings to include processing, hosting and production services.
According to Crunchbase, H5 has raised a total of $395,000 in a 2013 venture round.
Lighthouse was founded in 2001
“The merger, under Lighthouse’s leadership, creates an unmatched suite of AI, data-analytics and advisory solutions to meet the exacting needs of corporate legal and GRC departments globally,” Nicolas Economou, chief executive officer of H5, said in a statement released by the company.
“The technology-enabled benefits that Lighthouse can deliver to global corporations with sophisticated ediscovery and information governance workflows are entirely unique.”
