Two notable people moves in the legal tech news this week.
Wishart Joins Agiloft
London-based Andy Wishart has left Thomson Reuters, where he was most recently vice president of drafting and productivity solutions, to join Agiloft, the California company that provides a no-code contract lifecycle management platform, where he will serve as chief product officer.
Wishart was co-founder and chief technology officer of Business Integrity, developer of the contract automation software Contract Express, which Thomson Reuters acquired in 2015. He is a 1998 graduate of the University of Edinburgh with a degree in artificial intelligence and psychology.
“I am beyond thrilled to have Andy Wishart on board,” said Eric Laughlin, another former Thomson Reuters executive who became Agiloft CEO in August. “Andy is an outstanding leader in both CLM product management and AI innovation. As an industry leader in both areas, he will play a central role in our strategy of accelerating our CLM product development and AI capabilities.”
Levine Moves to ContractPodAi
Once a customer of ContractPodAi, Jerry Levine has now joined the company as chief evangelist and general counsel (Americas). Formerly, as general counsel and corporate secretary at Amelia (formerly IPsoft), Levine implemented ContractPodAi’s contract-lifecycle software within his legal department to help increase efficiency and improve compliance. Now he will serve as both an advisor to the company’s customers and as an internal client voice, helping shape product vision.
Levine was a guest on my LawNext podcast in February 2020, where he discussed his experience coming into IPsoft as its first general counsel and building a legal department from scratch. Over the course of four years, he built an international team of inhouse legal professionals, implemented governance standards, put in place compliance policies, set up processes for contract management and legal operations, and much more.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jerry Levine to our team,” said Sarvarth Misra, CEO of ContractPodAi. “Jerry has a deep understanding of how the intersection of law and technology can drive outsized value for businesses. His belief in using technology to help enable lawyers to be strategic leaders in an organization aligns deeply with ContractPodAi’s core mission.”
Leveraging his experience as general counsel and a client, Levine’s role as chief evangelist will include amplifying legal technology best practices, helping clients solve problems relating to their own digital transformations, and supporting ContractPodAi’s continued product innovation.
