There is a new CEO at online legal services provider LegalZoom. John Suh, who has been CEO since 2007 and on the company’s board since 2005, is moving to a position as senior advisor. Succeeding him is Daniel Wernikoff, who comes to LegalZoom after 15 years at Intuit, where he oversaw consumer and small business products including TurboTax and QuickBooks.

In a statement announcing the moves, LegalZoom said that, under Suh’s leadership from 2004 to 2019, the company grew twenty-five-fold. He will continue as a shareholder and senior advisor to the company.

At Intuit, Wernikoff served most recently as EVP and GM for its Consumer Group, a $2.2 billion business that includes TurboTax and Mint. He conceived and launched TurboTax Live, a marketplace of on-demand accountants.

Previously, he was EVP and GM of Intuit’s Small Business Financial Solutions Group, which includes QuickBooks. There, he oversaw the rebirth and development of QuickBooks Online, growing the product’s user base tenfold. Prior to his GM roles, he held several product and marketing leadership positions at Intuit.

A 2015 Fortune profile of Wernikoff called him the “pop culture-loving executive behind Intuit’s small business empire.”

“I’ve been hoping to transition from day-to-day responsibilities for a long time, but it wasn’t until Dan agreed to join LegalZoom that I felt confident handing over the reins of this extraordinary company,” Suh said in a company statement. “Dan had great success running consumer and small business solutions for Intuit, and I know our team can be excited about the next chapter of growth with him at the helm.”

“I am honored to be joining LegalZoom as its next CEO,” Wernikoff said in the statement. “This is an amazing opportunity to lead a company that leverages people and technology to create innovative and affordable legal services for all consumers and businesses. I’m excited to be joining such a passionate team that has accomplished so much including successfully creating a platform for growth and continued innovation.”
