The legal AI company Harvey said today that it has partnered with Harvey — the original one.

The Harvey in question — the non-AI one, that is — is Gabriel Macht, the actor who played the role of lawyer Harvey Specter in the television series Suits.

Harvey — the AI one — is named for Harvey Specter.

Now, Harvey the company has entered into a brand partnership with Macht, by which he will be a spokesperson for the company.

“Gabriel’s legendary performance as a lawyer continues to inspire people to pursue law,” said Harvey cofounder and CEO Winston Weinberg. “To that end, there’s no better spokesperson to support Harvey’s global brand growth and the launch of our Instagram account than Gabriel Macht.”

This is Harvey’s first brand partnership. The company has also launched an Instagram account at @askharvey.

“I’m partnering with Harvey because I care about where this company goes,” Macht said. “I want to support a responsible approach that keeps public interest in view.”

By the way, Harvey is hardly the first legal AI company named after a Suits character. The AI legal research platform ROSS Intelligence, which is no longer in business, was named for Suits character Mike Ross.
